The first primary source that I may analyze is an Axe Shampoo commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAZ4q_Jwm-M. It starts with a boy walking through a party and as he passes, a girl starts to follow him. As he enters the kitchen the girl grabs him and starts fondling his hair and stuffing her face into it, then it cuts to black.
The second source would be a music video from one of my favorite bands, Rise Against, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP4clbHc4Xg&ob=av2e, the song is about teenagers who are oppressed for their sexuality and then how many killed themselves over the ridicule. Throughout the video it shows shots of separate teens being taunted at school and shows the insensitivity of their fellow peers and then it follows their digressions into depression, and eventual suicide.
I think you missed a lot of important detail in your summery. The Ax commercial was almost adequately describe, but with the Rise Against video a lot of things were over looked. I think the Rise Against video would work better for your final project because you have a lot more material to work with. The summery really left me without a real clue as to what happened during the music video. You gave the general outline of the lyrics and plot, but some more detail will be needed to really show what the band was going for.
ReplyDeleteTwo materials are generally summarized. The first one, the Ax commercial ad, may be considered as one factor which attracts sexuality. The second one is much more impressive, and it encourages people how to positively face the sexuality. Second one should be a wonderful material for you in the final project.
