The above ad is for the ED medication Viagra. The scene pictured is in a nice kitchen where everything looks modern, high class, and normal. There is one exception to this normal scene, if you pay close attention to the island counter top it looks as if there is a plush mattress there instead of granite. At the bottom of the advertisement there is a small blue pill with the caption next to it that says "see the world differently".
This next ad shows a woman wrapped in a tray that is usually used for meat/poultry. She is nude and presenting herself. At the bottom of the ad it says "If you pay a Prostitute you're financing Human trading". Also It says, "every year 2,500,000 people become victims of human trafficking. This ad is sponsored by a governmental body educating people about the injustices of prostitution.
For the first one, I guess you could describe the kitchen more in details but you just did it in a very simple way as Brendan told that a few sentences would be suffice, and I like that. I really couldn't link the idea of "see the world differently" and viagra. How do you think about that caption? Does the poster tells EDs that they can see a different world if they use a viagra??? Or encouraging using viagra for EDs? I couldn't understand the meaning of the caption clearly, but I also thought that the caption itself really matches the theme of the course, as we are looking at and informed about the sexuality from so many different view of points. ie "see the sexuality differently".
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the first poster, I notice that the matieral of the table board is changed from marble to mattress. That looks interesting.Since this change, this room seems like a bed room but not a kitchen, and the oven looks like a pillow. And the smart caption " see the world differently" interprets this picture indirectly.
ReplyDeleteFor the second poster, the woman like a commodity which are waiting for be bought. In the grocery, if we pay money, we can buy anything we want on the shelves. Also, market exists because need. So if people do not pay any prostitute, there will be no market even no financing for the human trading. I can get more imformation and ideas from this poster, so I recommand you choose the second one.
I think you should use the second ad. It is much more clear and sends a greater message to the viewer. The only thing that could be added to your summary is the color of the writing and the background. Other than that, it looks good.
