The first primary source is the music video for T. Pain- "I'm in Love with a Stipper". I believe this music video fits in perfectly with our class theme of Sexuality. The basis of the song is that T. Pain is indeed infatuated with a good looking female stripper, to keep it clean. He sees her at the club at then takes her home. The video consists of multiple good looking women all dancing and hanging out with T. Pain. He eventually takes her home to do "that night thing" as quoted from the song. This song fits in perfectly with the stereotype of sexuality and the norms of a younger generation that is becoming more and more promiscuous.

The second primary source I have chosen is Usher- "Love in this Club". The video starts off with Usher waking up in the middle of an empty club where he looks at his phone to see a bunch of missed calls from a woman. He seems to start going crazy because people start appearing and the club becomes alive again. One of the first people to appear is a woman who begins dancing and grinding on Usher. The whole idea of the song is that Usher wants to hook up with this woman while in the club. The video consists of his efforts trying to hook up with her. This music video is similar to my first video in which it fits in with today's perceived vision of sexuality.
Both of these videos are outstanding sources for our class theme "Sexuality." Good summary and I liked the last sentence of your first video summary where you said younger generations are becoming more promiscuous. I want to add in your first video summary that T.Pain was the only man those strippers wanted and they tried to attract him by dancing and sexual moves.
ReplyDeleteAnd in the second primary resource, I would like to add what happened in the end where the music had ended and the club was all burned down. I am sure you are going to do analysis on what might caused it but at least you could have mentioned in the summary. Other than that, great summary.
For the first video I agree that it fits in with what we are talking about in class. It shows viewers what an attractive women is supposed to look like and how she is supposed to act. It also follows the doubled standard that if a guy gets a bunch of girls he is cool.
ReplyDeleteI think the second video is also a good source but they might be a bit similar. I think are both conveying the same idea. If you would need two videos to prove one point this would be a good choice but if you need to make two seperate points you might need a different video.
These two videos all focus on how a man can be attractive to women. In these videos, we can see some information that relates to sexuality such as the way people dance and what they are wearing on.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one more because it is like telling you a story. It starts with acting instead of direct dancing. I think what you can develop on this video is that you can think about why they are acting in this way and how they can make them more attractive to females.
