English 110 hones analytical habits of mind that are meant to be naturalized and used outside of the classroom. Therefore, the Blog Project takes the analysis you use and gives you the chance to practice applying it to the public writing you already interact with in your everyday life. By considering representations of sexuality found in your world, you can become a more critically aware consumer of various media texts.

This is a cialis comercial that depicts a man doing a hands on job out of the house. He is married and goes back to a nice suburban home where his wife stays at home when he is at work. It is very stereotypical as the man is the one who works and the woman stays at home in a nice suburban home doing work around the house.

This is a Mitt Romney ad that depicts him with his very "normal" and traditional family life. He is married and has kids. He shows many images of him and his family doing many things one would often see in a family setting, such as dinner with other relatives or playing with his kids. He is using these images of a good, "normal" family life to help his campaign.

The first ad is so awesome and creative. Just feel amazing that all the harmony views can be connected with a tablet that help men have normal sexuality.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is an ad for campaign. It is set in a family background to show good relationship of his family. A special way to demonstrate his passion to care about people.
The summery of the first commercial was somewhat incomplete. I really didn't see the entire connection between what you described and the commercial. I think it would be helpful for you to go into some more detail on how he got to his house and maybe what he was riding on. It also might be helpful to tell the reader what kind of drug Cialis is because not everyone knows.
ReplyDeleteThe second commercial was described better. I think it would be more complete if you told the reader that it was a presidential campaign ad, and that it was a monolog of Romney talking at a debate. Otherwise the ad was summarized well.
If I was choosing between the two ads for the final writing project, I would pick the Romney ad. I think it offers a lot broader range of topics to discuss. There are also a lot of strongly worded points related to sexuality throughout it.
The first is a very simple one and it will be very easy to analyze and it won't get very annoying to watch over and over. It also depicts a very stereotypical situation of the family in this society and it will be interesting to read your analysis.
ReplyDeleteThe other one may be a tad bland and its main focus is not on the family but that of the campaign
